How It Works

An NMES device delivers highly controlled electrical impulses through transcutaneous electrodes (such as Pals & ValuTrode clinical pads) to specific, targeted muscle groups. These impulses bypass the central nervous system to directly depolarize motor neurons, triggering a synchronized, involuntary muscle contraction. This allows clinicians to maintain muscle function, preserve tissue health, and retrain neural pathways even when a patient's voluntary movement is impaired or prohibited.
