FAQ

Getting Started & Compatibility

  • How do I know if ZeHops pads will fit my device?
Most standard TENS and EMS units (like the TENS 7000 or AUVON) use a universal 2.0mm pin (pigtail) connection. ZeHops offers high-compatibility pads for these systems, as well as specialized connectors for premium devices like Compex or PowerDot. Use our Compatibility Checker on the homepage to find your exact match.
  • What is the "Electric Human" narrative?
At ZeHops, we believe your bio-electrical current should never drop due to a bad adhesive. We bridge the gap between clinical med-tech and human performance, ensuring your recovery is never bottlenecked by poor signal quality.

Usage & Skin Care

  • How should I prepare my skin before applying electrodes?
Clean skin is the most critical factor for pad longevity. Before application, wash the area with soap and water to remove lotions, oils, and dead skin. Ensure the area is dry and, if necessary, remove excess body hair to achieve optimal conductivity.
  • What should I do if I experience skin irritation or "itchiness"?
Itchiness is a common report with lower-quality electrodes, but ZeHops uses Axelgaard’s patented MultiStick® and DermaFlow® hydrogels, which are designed to be gentle on the skin. To prevent minor irritation, check the skin under the pads every 10 minutes during long sessions. If redness occurs, it is usually transient, but you may apply a mild moisturizer after your treatment is complete.
  • Can I use hot or cold packs with my electrodes?
Avoid using hot or cold packs for extended periods while wearing the electrodes, as extreme temperatures can cause the adhesive to separate from the pad.

Longevity & Maintenance

  • How many times can I reuse my electrodes?
While lifespan varies based on skin type and care, a high-quality pad typically lasts for 20 to 30 applications. You should replace your pads when they no longer adhere securely or if the stimulation begins to feel "stinging" or uncomfortable.
  • How do I make my pads sticky again?
If your pads pick up debris or lose their grip, you can gently rub a drop of water onto the hydrogel with your finger to restore stickiness. Do not use alcohol, soap, or abrasive materials to clean the gel.
  • What is the best way to store my electrodes?
After each session, return the pads to the "ON" side of the Mylar liner and seal them inside their original foil pouch to prevent moisture loss. Store them at a room temperature between 41.0°F and 80.6°F. Do not store them in the freezer or leave them in extreme heat.

Safety & Quality Standards

  • Can I share my electrodes with someone else?
No. To maintain proper hygiene and avoid cross-contamination, electrodes are labeled for single-patient use only.
  • Are ZeHops electrodes antimicrobial and latex-free?
Yes. Our electrodes utilize Axelgaard’s MultiStick® hydrogel, which has been independently tested to kill MRSA with over a 99.9% reduction rate. Additionally, all our products and packaging are 100% latex-free.
  • Where are your products manufactured?
All ZeHops electrodes are Made in the USA. We leverage over a decade of medical technology experience to provide hospital-grade conductivity directly to your door.
  • Are there areas where I should NOT apply electrodes?
Yes. Avoid applying pads to the following areas:
    • The front or side of the neck.
    • The temples or mouth.
    • Directly over the heart or chest.
    • Irritated, broken, or numb skin.
    • Varicose veins.
